Fonds d'Urgence - Solidarité IFM

Dear alumni,

The Institut Français de la Mode is dealing with the complexities generated by the new lockdown and economic crisis. The Institute is dedicated to overcoming these challenges and providing enhanced support to our students.

Currently, select technical and creative courses that require machinery, equipment and practical learning have been maintained in the studios while all other classes are ongoing virtually. This year more than ever, teachers are committed to ensure that each student  benefit fully from the education provided in our school.

A key concern in this new lockdown is the very precarious financial situation many of our students are finding themselves in as many temporary jobs are no longer needed.

Consequently, students are experiencing financial distress, uncertainty and potentially  cramped accommodation conditions - which is not ideal during a lockdown. Furthermore, many students are far from their home and family. Sometimes, they are scarcely able to buy food for the day. 

With the support of the Foundation's partner companies, an initial emergency fund was set up during the first lockdown to provide support to our students. The fund provided essential support to the students most in need.

However, given to continuing lockdown and difficult situation many of our students are finding themselves in, we are re-activating the Emergency Fund. To date, we have 96 applications for emergency grants, 16 of which are complete and justified.

We do not have the resources to take them in account.

All together, the Institut Français de la Mode, the IFM Foundation and the IFM Alumni, we want to ask the entire IFM community to generously contribute to this Emergency Fund. 

The IFM Spirit that makes all IFM generations feel passionate for Fashion and Creativity is also a great spirit of Solidarity and linkage between generations. It is up to us to help the IFM Students overcome with this situation.
