FASHION LESSON #21LACE, A HIGHLY CONTEMPORARY MATERIALInternationally recognised under the name of Dentelle de Calais-Caudry®, lace woven on Leavers looms strikes a balance between tradition and innovation. Lace is the product of 200 years of knowledge, enhancing the most beautiful contemporary creations. Here we set aside preconceptions and question the creative process. Who inspires whom? How do art and industry mutually nourish one another? The answers can be found with couture houses, master craftspeople and lace producers.Sylvie Marot is an independent curator.
