The Musée des Arts Décoratifs dedicates a major exhibition to the history of luxury throughout civilizations, from antiquity to present day. Initially presented in 2019 at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the project was conceived by Olivier Gabet, Director of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and has been adapted to the Western context of the Parisian museum. The exhibition explores visions of luxury throughout the ages with 100 majestic pieces made out of precious materials, from the creative extravagance of haberdasher merchants and the first champions of luxury industries from the era of world fairs,haute couture, and to the splendor and panache of French luxury houses from the early 21st century.
