The IFM Alumni, "L’association des diplômés de l’Institut Français de la Mode" invited Simona Cattaneo to share her perception of the different fashion & perfume languages  on the 17th of October during an afterwork at the Institut Français de la Mode.

Fashion and fragrances have always gone along closely together, with fragrances allowing luxury brands to express themselves within the beauty industry.

To guide you through the story of the (new) language of Luxury Beauty, the Perfume & Cosmetics Alumni team will have the pleasure to welcome Simona Cattaneo, Coty Luxury Chief Marketing Officer – and appointed Coty Luxury President as of Jan 1, 2020.

Simona Cattaneo joined Coty in 2016, the moment the company turned into global fragrance leader with a portfolio of contemporary brands such as Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Chloé among others. Along with her teams, she completed the division transformation and launched new successful icons such as Gucci Bloom, Chloé Nomade or Tiffany & Co. Eau de Parfum.

Prior to this role, Simona held the position of SVP for Burberry Beauty, a company she joined in 2012. She led the launch of fragrances such as My Burberry and Mr. Burberry, as well as the development of the Burberry Beauty Box store concept. Simona Cattaneo has a significant track record in beauty and cosmetics, and has held several positions at Christian Dior Parfums and L’Oréal.

During this talk, Simona will share her experience and decode the (new) language of Luxury Beauty for us, exploring the major industry trends at stake and illustrating with some examples.

Indeed beauty and luxury have evolved : among other significant shift the industry has gone through, the social network revolution and the “uberization” of our culture - just to name a few- are now placing the consumers at the heart of the change. This has led to new behaviors that challenge the codes of luxury and the words behind it such as “property”, “rarity”, “price” and “exclusivity”. This has also contributed to major trends impacting brands innovation, reinvention and communication which Simona will guide us through.

The talk will take place at the IFM, 36 quai d’Austerliz, on the Thursday 17th of October from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

A drink reception will take place after the conference to allow some more debates and networking.
