The auction house Maurice Auction, in partnership with the British fashion expert Kerry Taylor Auctions, is organizing an exceptional sale in Paris on Monday, January 27, featuring only pieces by Martin Margiela dating from 1988 to 1994. With more than 270 lots on offer, this will be the largest auction ever dedicated to Margiela.
All of the lots belong to sisters Angela and Elena Picozzi, who have been collecting them over the decades, inspired by their mother Graziella Picozzi, a key figure in the Italian fashion industry. This collection is a rare testament to Martin Margiela’s early creations from the late 1980s, supported at the time by Graziella Picozzi, who recognized his immense talent when he was still relatively unknown.
